For young people with developmental disabilities, those strengths and challenges can be difficult to balance. How can we make sure they grow to their full potential, while caring for them day-to-day?
Welcome to Treasure House, a unique active living community for young adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities. Residents enjoy their own furnished one-bedroom apartment with access to family style amenities such as a kitchen, lounge, game room, patio and outdoor activities. The goal of Treasure House is to provide these young adults with a living environment that will support them as they grow, develop and thrive.
At Treasure House, each resident designs and participates in his or her own selected vocational, education or volunteer opportunities. And, the Treasure House community is filled with opportunities to gather together for recreation, friendship and daily living experiences. The goal is to create a unique, welcoming environment for our residents that supports them in achieving their full potential while enjoying their own independence and personal growth.
Treasure House is one of only a handful of such facilities in the United States and the only one in the Southwest. It is a unique opportunity for families to provide their young adult with a cognitive disorder an opportunity to achieve his or her full potential.
